Yay for the weekend! Work Report I had a good week, but it felt a bit on the intense side. Mostly due to work- I've continued training our new employee. She's amazing and it's going really well, but it's still just SO much constant interaction. Fortunately, I think the "worst" is behind us. She is… Continue reading It’s the weekend/ work + workout update

Running safety/ a personal close call story
I cannot get Eliza Fletcher off my mind. It's just absolutely horrific. I can't stand to even read or hear about it anymore. Fear for my safety while running is actually one reason that I stopped running, years ago. Given that back then I had to be to work at 7 am, and didn't get… Continue reading Running safety/ a personal close call story
Back in the gym (again, again, again- okay for REAL)
Hey hey, look who finally went back to the gym yesterday!! I did. Typing this title made me cringe, because I know for a fact that I've written multiple "yay, look at me, I'm getting back to consistent gym exercise!!" posts over the past couple of years. And if I've written the same thing repeatedly,… Continue reading Back in the gym (again, again, again- okay for REAL)
Temporary(?) workout plan/ gym fail
According to my records 🤓, I haven't been to the gym since July 11. ARGH. I am feeling this familiar frustration, where I want to do things, but "can't"/ "am not making time"/ "life schedule has been way too wonky for consistency". We left for San Diego on July 14, got home late on Sunday… Continue reading Temporary(?) workout plan/ gym fail
Macro tracking: the negative side
A nice sample of a balanced breakfast: Fruit Loops! (treat mode) with unsweetened cashew milk, plus 1 egg, 2 egg whites, pepper jack cheese, arugula and salsa verde. Great combo of macronutrients while mixing fun foods and healthy foods. P21, C 29, F11, 306 calories. Okay, okay, okay, okay.....I realize this entire post could come… Continue reading Macro tracking: the negative side
Over the 8 day hump/ nutrition podcast rec
I'm happy to report that I am still tracking my macros. Yesterday was Day 8. "Day 8" (or thereabouts) tends to be my kryptonite. Usually, any time I try to implement a change, or do a "program" (like when I tried repeatedly to do the #75Hard program...), I go forth strong for...about 8 days. I… Continue reading Over the 8 day hump/ nutrition podcast rec
My meals of the week (with macros)
Okay! Will try to blab on less today and just share some stats. I started tracking on Monday. I'll try to list the approximate times I ate, too, if I can remember. Reminder- P= protein, F= fat, C= carbohydrates. My daily "goals" were: P 127, F 50, C 134, ~1,500 calories Monday Daily Totals:Calories: 1,477119P/… Continue reading My meals of the week (with macros)
My experience with macro counting/ IIFYM
Okay, disclaimer- this is a topic that I could go on and on about, so I will try my best to keep this concise (edited to add- I lied. This is not concise.) I want to get more into my personal experience, but I feel like I should give a little "101" level intro first… Continue reading My experience with macro counting/ IIFYM
Back in gym (again)
I finally went back to the gym! (I feel like I've had a few of these "I'm back!" posts....hopefully you won't see one again. 😆) Back around my birthday in October, I had kind of claimed this next year as the "year I return to the gym", after falling out of it bigtime during the… Continue reading Back in gym (again)
Random exercise rant
I saw this quote last week about our bodies + exercise: "Your entire life happens inside your body. It's the one home you will always occupy and can never sell. But you can renovate it. If you can only pick one habit to build, exercise might be the one. Everything is downstream from how your… Continue reading Random exercise rant
