Final Christmas prep, or lack thereof I'm mostly about as done with Christmas as I'm gonna be this year, for now. Well, almost. My Christmas cards still need to be addressed, but they are here and ready and I have stamps. It is actually sort of nice that some of the pressure is "off", in… Continue reading Wrapping things up… and something I’ll miss

Travel Tuesday: 2007 Honeymoon to Disney World + St. Pete Beach!
Okay, yes, I said this was going to be a Friday series called Flashback Fridays. But come on. We all know that I am not an Organized Blogger who does things on a schedule. Most likely these past travel recaps will make random appearances whenever I get to them! 🙂 Without further delay, please enjoy… Continue reading Travel Tuesday: 2007 Honeymoon to Disney World + St. Pete Beach!
Flashback Friday series: Intro
So, I had a little epiphany recently. Ever since I started posting my Travel recaps (when I started this blog in 2020), I have occasionally thought, "Oh... wouldn't it be neat if I had travel recaps like these from ALL of our trips as a family??" But we got married in 2007. From 2007-2020 is… Continue reading Flashback Friday series: Intro
Christmas ponderings
Halloween is over, so Christmas is somehow on the horizon already. First order of business.... take down my Halloween stuff. Which is all definitely still up, including the orange outdoor lights. Eh, what's the rush. But I am feeling a small sense of urgency to get a move on in the Christmas department, because we… Continue reading Christmas ponderings
Fall U.P. Retreat- Days 3 and 4
Saturday, October 7th We again had a dreary, slightly rainy morning on Saturday. The forecast was showing just clouds, but there did seem to be intermittent rain showers, too. Saturday was our last full day, so we were hoping to get out and see a few more local sights. By mid-morning, after breakfast, tea and… Continue reading Fall U.P. Retreat- Days 3 and 4
Fall U.P. Retreat- Day 2
Friday, October 6 We stayed up pretty late on Thursday watching a movie, so we slept in until almost 8 a.m. yesterday!! Glorious. The weather seemed a little iffy and we weren’t in any hurry, so it was a slow, relaxing morning. Made tea and puttered around and I baked some cinnamon rolls for breakfast.… Continue reading Fall U.P. Retreat- Day 2
Fall U.P. Retreat- Day 1
Coming at you today from the beautiful Upper Peninsula in Michigan! Ethan and I are on our highly anticipated mother/son fall retreat, which I planned and booked back in June. As in, before I realized I would have a new puppy in our house this week...... ha. Oh well, what is life without a little… Continue reading Fall U.P. Retreat- Day 1
A ME day… and passing on a travel opportunity
I am feeling GOOD today!! I feel minorly guilty saying this so excitedly, but I'll say it anyway: Both boys are away from home for a while!!! This is a very rare situation around here. Ethan wanted to go stay with my parents for a week before school starts (he does this most summers and… Continue reading A ME day… and passing on a travel opportunity
Days 8 & 9- Coco Cay and home!
Friday, June 30- Perfect Day at Coco Cay Friday was our last real day of vacation!! (Saturday/ travel day doesn't really count, IMO.) Our final port of call was Royal Caribbean's private island, located in the Bahamas and called Coco Cay. They refer to this port as "Perfect Day at Coco Cay", because, how catchy.… Continue reading Days 8 & 9- Coco Cay and home!
Day 7: Sea Day #2
Thursday, June 29 Thursday was our second "at sea" day!! YAY! The ports were super fun, but I think we were all ready for a slower, more relaxed day after the 3 port visits in a row. (I mean, we usually do many days of sightseeing in a row when we travel, so that part… Continue reading Day 7: Sea Day #2
