I listed as a “fun goal” for May to walk to the new(ish) coffee shop by my house on a nice day and work there for a while. It’s literally a <10 minute walk!
Well, today was the day. My mom wanted to go for a walk and I had about 1 hour 15 minutes in between meetings. It is the most beautiful day today- upper 60s and full sunshine.
So I grabbed my laptop and we walked over for tea + a cappuccino.

WEIRDLY, I had only been to this coffee shop once before- and it’s so close! I will definitely be going back more often. It has a really nice vibe and was quite busy.
I especially like the set of little cozy booths. Perfect for using a laptop or working for a little more privacy.

I had a required regulatory training course to complete by Friday, so I used this time to knock that out.

It’s bright and cheery and I think I may need to start making a regular appearance over there! Like I said, <10 minutes on foot! In our area (i.e. not a big urban city), it’s rare to have many places we can really walk to instead of driving. I am lucky in that I can walk to my gym AND now a great coffee shop. The place Ivan and I had pizza + wine the other day is right next to this coffee shop, too, so that’s another place I definitely want to walk to more often this summer.

Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful that I made myself go to the gym this morning. I woke up slightly late and felt a little lazy… at first I told myself, Eh, maybe I’ll go on my lunch hour instead. But then I realized, realistically, with my mom here and all, I’m not going to WANT to go on my lunch hour, either! I should go now. So I got up, changed my shoes, and went. And yep, I’m now very glad I went at 6:15!! I had a great workout and best part, it’s done. 😉
