9:30 p.m. still counts! 🙂
I just sat down for the first time since I finished working at 5:30. I had a very thrilling Friday night around here.
Ivan is away tonight with a friend, Ethan is away overnight for tennis, and Asher had golf, then work. He should be home soon.
I decided to spend my home-alone evening cleaning the house. Womp womp… Haha.
Actually, I didn’t mind. We typically clean every other week, and we’re “due” this weekend. I’d rather get it out of the way tonight. I also really needed to clean out our refrigerator (way too many old leftovers/ remnants of no longer edible stuff in there…), so I did that, first.
It was a very nice evening, weather-wise, so I had the window and patio door open and listened to a podcast. I made a big pitcher of iced tea, in my cute glass pitcher (that I bought at Goodwill!).

(I have been really into brewing my own iced tea. I enjoy the process of boiling the water in my kettle on the stove, steeping the tea bags, adding a bunch of ice… It feels intentional and just a little, I don’t know, more slowed down than usual. I have to then put it in the fridge and wait for it to cool a bit, too.)
I cleaned the whole main part of the house and IT FEELS SO GOOD. Not just the clean house, but going into the weekend with a clean house.
Now I just got back from walking Charlie.
It might sound “sad” to spend a Friday evening cleaning, BUT thanks to my current time tracking/ categorizing project, I am well aware that I did many other enjoyable things this week. I did NOT spend all my time cleaning.
For example, yesterday afternoon I went to Ethan’s tennis match and enjoyed that very much. 🙂

On Wednesday night Ivan and I went out for pizza and wine! (This was my idea- I remembered our local restaurant had some kind of “Wine Wednesday” special. Well, turns out that the big special is $1 off a glass of wine (20% of bottles!- but I wasn’t gonna drink a whole bottle of wine on a Wednesday night…).
Not quite sure that $1 off really warranted a special evening out to take advantage of the wine savings 😆😆 but hey. It was a good excuse.

I also went in the hot tub this week, went to the gym, walked the dog, played the piano a few times, and blogged every day!
I also did a Monarch money catch up, booked Ethan’s senior pictures!, cleaned my office, washed everyone’s sheets, did my April photo purge/organization, went to the pharmacy, unloaded the dishwasher, etc. Oh, and I worked my job and led a big presentation on Wednesday!
Ultimately, my time log shows quite a lot of balance and variety.
Have a good weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms.

Oh, and this made me chuckle:

Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful for a clean house! It’s just the best.
