This past week flew by. I felt a bit scattered, too. It’s not like I had an objectively hard week. Actually, on paper it looks like mostly all I did was fun stuff in my free time. For some reason it didn’t really feel like that, though?
Maybe because work was intense last week. There’s reason to believe we may have our “unannounced” CMS regulatory survey this week, which is a Big Deal in hospital land. These only happen every several years and they’re very important. Extensive prep has already been done, but naturally my boss was in a tizzy trying to make sure all the last details are ready. We had lots of last-minute work, unexpected meetings, etc. on top of regular work. Of course, we don’t actually know for sure that it will be this week (hence the unannounced part- but the surveyors have been in our region and seem to be zooming in on transplant centers, so it stands to reason we may be next).
I continued photographing my outfits in an effort to force myself to be slightly more mindful of what I’m wearing, aka wear more of my clothes! I do feel like some of the novelty of this challenge is wearing off- as in, I find myself thinking, ‘Oh, I should wear something different/better because of this wardrobe photo challenge’ and then in the next thought I’m like, ‘eh, nah, I don’t care, I’ll just wear my same comfy green shorts.’ 😅
Let’s see how I did. I think it kind of helped??
Saturday
Last Saturday I went to my parents’ house for the day. It was a very casual day plus I drove 1 hour 15 minutes each way. I did not try particularly hard here, but I DID swap out my basic flip flops I initially grabbed for my Adidas Spezials (which I personally think are very cute) and I wore this striped sweatshirt instead of the plain zip up I probably would have otherwise.

Sunday
Oops, no pic from Sunday. I didn’t really “get dressed” on Sunday. I mean, obviously I wore clothes, but Sunday was a “chores” day. I ended up just wearing workout clothes all day while I worked on some Zion planning, cleaning, groceries, etc before finally going to the gym.
Monday
Monday I worked from 7-3 because I had a haircut at 3:15, then made dinner and went to church at 6:30.

Tuesday
Over the weekend Ivan and I had bought tickets to go see The Devil Wears Prada 2 in the theater (discount night + free popcorn!). Ivan made steak milanesas for dinner beforehand (no sides really) and then we had popcorn as our “dinner side”. 😉

Wednesday
On Wednesday I worked late so we ended up making a last-minute decision to scrap our dinner plans and go to our Mexican place for dinner, mid-week.

Thursday
Thursday I worked, cooked dinner, and then walked to the gym for volleyball at 7:30. We didn’t play until 8:20 but I met up with the girls beforehand to hang out for a while. It was a gorgeous summer night!
My effort started waning toward the end of the week and I threw in the towel Thursday morning with trying to put together some “outfit”. It got HOT mid-week so I just wore this favorite Lulu tee and my beloved green shorts and my very functional, comfy AND still cute (IMO) white Eddie Bauer flip flops. (I love these flip flops because they have more structure to them, so they are great for going out to walk Charlie midday, etc.)

Friday
On Friday it was a rainy, stormy day. I also didn’t have any important on camera meetings, and my effort remained low. SO I declared it a “cozy day” (😆) and wore a tee and joggers all day. 🤷♀️I tried to still pick something that felt a little cute? I don’t know. I mean, I felt put together enough (I did have one casual huddle meeting and my white tee with necklace looked fine for that) and the fitted tee made me feel a little more elevated, too. I may have low standards, however. lol.

We didn’t have set plans for Friday night, but Ethan was away with his tennis friends and Asher was golfing 18 holes, so Ivan and I spontaneously decided to go to Garver Feed Mill in Madison for beers + a fish fry. Ivan’s brother + gf ended up meeting up with us (not previously planned but they were texting so Ivan told them to drive over and it just worked out!). It was really fun. 🙂
In hindsight I could have definitely stepped up this Friday night outfit, but in my defense, we were debating where to go for dinner literally until we backed down the driveway. (I mean, the place we ended up was casual, so it was fine, but being summer and all I might have preferred a cute casual summer dress or something.)

Saturday
Yesterday I ended up unexpectedly at my parents’ house again, this time to start helping them actually pack!! The time turnaround with the move is going to be tight with our trip in the middle here. They’re trying to pack up and move out (to a temporary storage unit near the new house) a bunch of more fragile things/ things they don’t want the movers moving.
I spent several hours bubble wrapping their beautiful wedding china, haha, among other things.

I didn’t snap a pic of outfit as I rushed out the door, but it was nothing to write home about. It was 88 degrees yesterday, so I just wore shorts, a tank and my Teva sandals.
I left there around 4:30, got home about 6, and by 6:30 Ivan and I headed to a high school graduation party for a swim friend of Asher’s. I forgot to snap a pic, but I wore this:

So, that was my week of outfits.
On the docket for today- my parents are driving over to get the keys to the storage unit and dump a van load of stuff. I have a few things of theirs too, so we’ll meet them there at noon.
I kind of forgot we have another grad party (different swim family) from 12-3 today, too, that I’d like to at least stop by. ‘Tis the season!
Have a great Sunday, all.
Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful for my sunroom. I have been sitting in here every morning with the patio door open and I just LOVE IT.
P.S. Tell me if these outfit posts are obnoxious. Honestly I feel sort of weird posting a bunch of selfies, like, I don’t know, “look at me!” I do think taking the pics motivates me to try slightly harder to consider my outfit and wear more of my clothes, which is my goal, but I can take the pics and NOT post them, too! Let me know. 😉

Los of cute outfits there Kae! Interesting your comment about high rise pants. I’m exactly the opposite, 5’5″ but my legs are a bit short & torso long. I cannot wear anything with a built in waist line. That dress (your repurposed pic) would drive me crazy as the waist would be almost an empire. Whenever something like one piece jumpsuits were in style there were a no go for me.
