I’m cranky right now. That’s about all I can say to sum it up. I have just been tired in general lately, despite a great weekend. I’ve gotten to bed too late too many nights recently and I’m paying for it now.
Also, I made the mistake of lying in bed when my alarm went off and checking my email. I got a response back from the piano studio my boys take lessons at that my first two choices for lesson times for next year (right after school, to avoid conflicts with soccer or swim practice) have “already been taken”. The options they are giving me seem like a big fat “not gonna work” on our end. 😦
This immediately stressed me out, because with piano lessons, once you set the time, it doesn’t change for the whole year. If we get times that don’t work, we are going to be feeling that pain for a long time. UGH. So yeah, I’m just really annoyed right now and have no idea what we will do now.
I am also crabby because my computer screen just got stuck on some weird magnified mode and it took me over 10 minutes to get it fixed! (This might be the epitome of me “sweating the small stuff” but what is it about computer issues that just make people go crazy?!!)
I think this morning I am going to turn to music. I don’t always listen to a ton of music, but I’ve been trying to remember to do so more lately. It has a way of brightening my mood in a way other things can’t.
I have a couple of songs I like to listen to when I’m in a bad mood. I also have a Pandora station called “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” which will usually play lots of upbeat but light music with positive tones- lots of reggae/ Caribbean music which makes me think of being on a beach.
Here are the two that I often turn to:
1. Bob Marley- “Three Little Birds” aka “Don’t Worry About a Thing”. You cannot listen to this song without feeling good. Also, I encourage you to watch the video. His smile is INFECTIOUS in these shots (if you’re in email, click to site for videos!).

Hard to tell in the photo, but I am just cracking up as I’m getting blown away in the wind! |

So beautiful. The wind was literally blowing the water up into the air- see the mist? |
Daily Gratitude:
we all have one of those days that our mood is just not there, therefore everything seems to be wrong and annoying. Usually when that happens, I just remind myself it's one of those days and it will pass. hope the music trick worked!

Those ireland photos are gorgeous! I hope you can get over to visit your sister in the next year or so! I've had some cranky moments this week, too. I was especially cranky on Monday as I had a bunch of meetings and wasn't feeling well. I was on a call with my team and someone suggested we set up ANOTHER weekly meeting to discuss something and I snapped and said "I can't handle another meeting on my calendar right now." I know it came off poorly but I hate how many people's first instinct is to schedule a meeting to discuss things when we could solve it without requiring everyone to dial into a meeting.

I love Bob Marley! When I was in high school my biology class took a trip to Costa Rica and the bus driver blasted Bob Marley the whole time – it was the only tape he had. Now hearing him always makes me think of tropical jungles and mosquito netting :-)Love those photos, ha. I remember that day. Happy memories. Miss you so much!

Hahaha I can see someone snapping like that! Meetings can be frustrating. They are especially hard if you feel like it is basically wasting your time, yet you are essentially trapped there…. makes me anxious thinking about it!

Aww I bet that was cool. His music is certainly the perfect soundtrack for anything tropical or island-like. The songs remind me of all those cruises with my friend in high school. So mellow too. Miss you too 😦
