I sometimes do the cute “Friday 5” posts, but definitely not always. Just depends on my mood. However, it seems like today EVERYBODY did a Friday 5, so, I am joining in. 🙂
1) I worked a flexed schedule today- 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This sounds nice on the surface- done at 1:30! But honestly it does not work that well for me right now.
First, that’s early. Second, this means I have no time in the morning to walk Charlie or take Asher to school, since I need to get going working. Also, if I announce to my whole team that I’m working a set schedule of a flat 8 hours, that doesn’t leave too much wiggle room for breaks. On a normal day I’m probably logged on for more than 8 hours, so then I feel zero guilt taking some walk breaks, Charlie breaks, etc.
Anyway, I’m salaried and no one really cares, but still. I feel a little funny being “away” too much in the morning if I’ve announced I’m ending by 1:30 for the day (and not taking any PTO).
Charlie had a puppy groom scheduled at 2 p.m., though, so I decided this made the most sense today. And Friday is a great day to be done early!
2) I bought Christmas PJ pants.
While Charlie was at the groomer, my mom and I ran a couple errands. I wanted to check Old Navy for some new PJ pants for Ethan. His are too short, but I didn’t want particularly expensive ones, since he is still growing.
I found some for him, but I also ended up grabbing these 50% off Christmas PJ pants for myself. I only have one pair of PJ pants- a dark green and black pair. Technically they could maybe pass as “Christmasy”, but I don’t know, they do not feel festive to me.
So I got these:

Did I need Christmas PJ pants? No. Am I kind of excited to have some, for $12? Yes. 🙂
3) I WON ELISABETH’S PLANNER GIVEAWAY!
I never win anything! But my name was drawn and check out this amazing package that arrived from Nova Scotia today!! 🙂 🙂

This totally made my day.
4) I got a good laugh out of these notebooks that I saw advertised today:

I saw one of these once in a gift shop that said “Employees I’m Thinking About Firing” and always think that’d be hilarious for a boss to just casually keep on her desk.
5) And, another Outfit of the Day:

I couldn’t bring myself to wear “hard pants” today. Was up at 4:30 (woke up earlier than intended, again, ugh…) and was working by 5:30. Also, I drank a large margarita last night. 🤪
Went with a casual black elastic waistband pant, i.e. comfy pants that still look fairly presentable.
Striped top was fine for a couple casual morning meetings and the vest was nice for running errands this afternoon.
Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful that I won the Sprouted planner giveaway. I couldn’t get the box open fast enough. 🙂

Oh my gosh I have one of those WTF notebooks- got it as a gift- and I love it! I used every page. Have a great weekend!

Alright I’m trying to comment from my phone- I hope this works because I have THINGS TO SAY. Yes you absolutely did need those pajama pants and as a matter of fact I think I may need them too. I’ll have to make my way over to Old Navy this week.
I’m consumed with envy that you won the planner!!! I’m hoping you’ll do a full post on it once you start using it.
And, those notebooks are hilarious. I like how the “brilliant ideas I had while drinking wine” one is a bestseller.

Those PJs are AMAZING. I love them so much and I love how they’re more neutral and wintery? I feel like things with a Christmas pattern can only be worn before Christmas? But this screams FALL! WINTER! Months and months of coziness.
I’m so glad you won a Sprouted prize (and that it worked perfectly that both winners wanted different “packages”).
LOVE your outfit. You’re so stylish ❤
My favourite notebook is definitely Useless Stuff to Overthink. Haha. But they're all amazing.

I have a very flexible schedule and also sometimes work early or late and while I am putting in my hours, I always feel weird about being “off” when other people are still working. What’s up with that? I did my work already!
Love the PJs. I was hoping to look for some Christmas PJs too.

The pajama pants are so cute! I bought some Christmas jammies last year on clearance plus some for the boys. I thought they would fit the boys this year. Paul put on a pair tonight and they are so huge on him. Maybe next year they will fit both boys and we can all match. I think the size 3 ones for taco will be too big too. It’s tough to guess the boys’ sizes and sizing is so weird.
Those notebooks are so funny. That would be a good gift for a coworker. Our sales group just went through a big reorg on Friday. I didn’t check email all day and then logged in today to do my weekend work and found out about all these changes. Some of those notebooks would make a good gift for people who weren’t happy with the change (which is most people!

I will take the Meetings That Could Have Been Emails book! That is so common and such a waste of time! The ideas after drinking wine is funny too.
I have a really soft wintery pair of PJs and I love wearing them, and will even wear them in the off season. I am sure my neighbors get a kick out of seeing me taking out the trash in snowflake pants in June, but hey, someone has to be the talk of the neighborhood!

I am pretty sure I own those Old Navy pj bottoms. HA. They are so Christmassy and wonderfully cozy!
A 5:30 start to the workday is ROUGH but at least it leaves the afternoon to yourself (although I’d be tempted to take a long nap, negating the benefits of an early workday, lol).
