It’s kind of blowing my mind right now that it’s MARCH tomorrow.
I do not feel that February was my greatest month ever over here. I am not sure what happened exactly, but it feels like it slipped between my fingers.
Never fear, I am not about to start rehashing all the ways I ended up feeling overwhelmed and out of sorts in February. I already did that plenty of times, and I’m certain that if I go down that path yet again I will start getting a bunch of “unsubscribe” notifications from all of you. Hahaha.
But you know what? It is okay. Not all months have to be stellar. It wasn’t bad, anyway, just pretty “meh”. Not particularly noteworthy, and heavy on the WORK side of work-life balance too. I will instead feel happy for SHU that she did have a very lovely February full of fun things!
So, bring on March! Bring on spring break. (yessssss!!) Bring on more daylight and hopefully some (kind of) springlike weather (–> not holding my breath on this one. Spring in Wisconsin is notoriously fickle.)
February was a lot of ho-hum days… working, parenting, making/eating/cleaning up meals (or, this month, a good amount of just scratching all that and eating out…), cleaning up the house, planning for our trip, etc. etc. Lots of swim meets! A little vomit in the mix. And driving 14 year olds to McDonalds shifts and basketball games. Not quite enough exercise, not quite enough walks- but, still a decent amount, too. Fair enough.
Here are a few snapshots from a ho-hum February Monday:

And a few February quotes….
🔷 “The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails.” – John Maxwell
🔷 “In case of any doubt, push on just a little further and then keep on pushing.” – George S. Patton
🔷 “Each day provides its own gifts.” – Marcus Aurelius
🔷 “Appreciation is the purest vibration that exists on the planet today.” – Esther Hicks
🔷 “Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.” – Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati
🔷 “Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look.” – Jodi Picoult
Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful for a very, very soft and comfy navy blue long-sleeved shirt I picked up at TJMaxx the other day. Didn’t find a beach bag, but, I did find a shirt I didn’t know I was looking for. Ha.
I still haven’t read The Maid but have heard good things!
I can’t get over how tiny your hamster is compared to Meatball!!
And cheers to a new month. I feel like my February had some high highs and low lows. I’m hoping for slightly more even-keeled living in March (though it’s shaping up to be busy, so I’m feeling slightly apprehensive!).
Hope your March Break trip is incredible. I am so excited to follow along and live vicariously through all your adventures 🙂

I had the same issue with The Maid! I liked it but felt the ending was unrealistic/not believable. But I really loved the main character’s personality!
February was very ho-hum over here, too. My stats for workouts, time outside, days > 10k steps are not great… January was a stellar month since I was healthy and did not travel. February kind of broke me a little bit with Phil’s trip and then my back-to-back trips and then I got a cold at the tail end of my TX trip that is still hanging in there. But tomorrow is a new month – and Paul’s birthday! Woo hoo! But spring is so very far off for us. We have SO MUCH SNOW. Like several feet of snow is on the ground, and then we got freezing rain last night and will get 1-4″ of snow tonight/tomorrow. Le sigh. I’m glad I have my Tucson trip w/ Paul to look forward to in April because I feel like we might still have snow then!

I think February was as good as February can get in my world. I’m imagining that by the end of March I will be ghostlike and truly done with winter, but I’m still hanging in there.
Today I’m grateful for the morning sun, despite a forecast that claimed it was going to be cloudy today. Yay for Vitamin D!

Your hamster is tiny! I think if I saw it scurrying across my floor I would consider it a mouse. It’s that tiny.
My February has been a bit mixed – 2 x plumbing issues, one trip away, the death of an old cat, some much needed family and friend time… I would say it was not great if you average it out, but it had its highs and lows for sure! I prefer summer so really am indifferent between February and March, but bring on June please!! However we are getting some much needed rain though, so there’s that, I guess. Have fun on your vacation!!

I agree that not everyday has to be like holidays, not every month needs to be productive, life is the sum of days/years, and it’s okay to have some meh days/months in between. that’s real life 🙂

February is just the worst month. Here’s hoping for a much better March and some spring weather for those of us not in optimim-Spring zones.

February went by in a flash. I was busy too and so sometimes it’s good when a month is over quickly… but man, how is it March already?
