Day 5 Copenhagen (Monday): photo dump

Breakfast at Espresso House:

Rented bikes, mostly to ride to Assistens Cemetery (where Hans Christian Andersen is buried):

Biking back.. was a littler nervous biking on city streets, to be honest! Copenhagen has bike lanes most places, but still, there are SO many bikers and they go fast! I recited Laura’s mantra to myself though, “If others can, you can too!”, started pedaling, and we were fine!!! It was fun!!

Tivoli Gardens for whole afternoon/evening!! (Famous old amusement park, so charming! Was Walt Disney’s inspiration for Disney World!)

Tivoli Food Hall for dinner. Amazing place with SO many ethnic options!! Super cute and fun vibe, too. Sushi for Ethan, steak frite from the French place for Asher.

A little more amusement park-ing… of course we had to stay until they closed at 10 pm…

Finally, gelato near apartment before bed. 😊

  1. We loved Tivoli. You should see it at Christmas time. Gah. Europe really knows how to celebrate holidays with FLARE.

My issue with the bikes in Denmark was how tall they were. I’m 5’4 and I could NOT touch the ground when stopping at a light. They have little footrests beside stop lights but I was so nervous I was going to cause a bike pileup.

Oh, the other really cool thing I hope you see if a bike training course. They have these miniature bike courses set up for kids so they can practice all the rules of the road in a safe place. They have stoplights that work, etc. SO COOL!

  2. This looks so fun! I would love the cycling. I think if there are tons of cyclists, cars know to look out for them so it’s pretty safe. Unlike where I live- cars aren’t expecting to see cyclists which makes it UNsafe, even though we do have bike lanes.

Glad you’re having such a good time!
