Life, Nurse stuff

Happy Friday!

I knew on Monday that the end of this week was gonna kind of kick my butt, mostly due to an imbalance of meetings, etc on the back half.

Fortunately, it wasn’t actually as bad as it would have been, due to a couple of handy cancellations. 🎉🎉

I kind of lost any good blogging window though (and got a bit behind on reading these last couple days, too…), and I’m about ready to switch into “Weekend Mode”, so I will keep my NaBloPoMo up with a very brief post today!

2 photos:

#1: Not the greatest pic, but just a snap from my hot tub soak last night. I have not been in the hot tub much this fall! In part because it’s been warmer than typical, and in part just…. I don’t know! But I had a pretty open evening last night, I was exhausted from not-great-sleep this week, and it was crisp and perfect hot tub weather. Ahhh. I went in alone and just… unwound. It was nice.

#2: A throwback pic of me as a nursing student!

A nursing friend texted me this today, spotted in a big “Centennial Book” that was mailed out to all alumni in honor of UW- Madison School of Nursing’s 100th anniversary.

I will admit- I got this book in the mail, haphazardly paged through it, and did NOT notice that, um, I was in it!! LOL! (I actually tossed it when I was done looking at it….darn! 😬)

This photo was taken in New Orleans, when I went down with a group of other Nursing students to volunteer in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina!!

Alright, have a great weekend all! Make it a happy one. 🙂 🙂

Daily Gratitude:

I am grateful for Friday! Multiple people at work today said “TGIF”, so I think everyone agreed we were about done for the week. Ha.

  1. Aah that hot tub looks amazing! One day I’d love to have one! TGIF indeed. Also, that pic is gorgeous. And how wonderful you helped after Hurricane Katrina. What memories.

  2. Love that throw back photo of young young Kae! I would likely not have noticed I was in a picture. I’m glad someone else caught it! I rarely page through stuff from my university! I do read the math dept newsletter that I get because it’s sort of an odd little newsletter which is not surprising given the nerdiness of the math dept!

  3. I was also in NOLA after Katrina! When were you there, and did you ever go to Slim Goodies on Magazine St.!?? Hahah. When we first got there, not much was open or functioning and Slim Goodies was serving bottled water and pancakes on paper plates and so I have a soft spot for them! It is funny to think that I could have sat right next to you at a bar or walked by you in the street and not even known!

    1. Ha, that would be so funny if we did!! Although we didn’t get “out” too much beyond our work shifts at the time, and we were staying in FEMA tents! We did go to some dinner event with some traditional New Orleans dishes and I think some entertainment that included some of the Mardi Gras costumes/ decorations! But we spent time seeing patients at a walk-in clinic, giving vaccines, etc. and also helped cook in a shelter type place… it was a pretty cool experience.

  5. Hey, there are SO MANY COPIES at work. Want one? 🙂 I could give you mine, but… I should probably keep it, being an employee and all that. 🙂 Let me know!
