Today is Good Friday, and Easter weekend is upon us. I feel like I should have some kind of profound post prepared to honor the important significance of this day in my religion (Christianity), but, I do not. I’ve got nothin’.
I’m sorry.
But at the same time, I feel like when it comes to reflecting on Jesus dying on the cross for my sins, I should not force it. It’s a day about simplicity, anyway. Quiet reflection. Solemnity. Maybe fewer words, more thinking is okay today. 🙂

The boys are off school now for a 4 day weekend. We don’t really have much in the way of Easter plans- still figuring that out. I have bought some Easter basket goodies, but probably need a couple more little things.
My big to-do items today include:
1) picking up my new work computer! Which involves dismantling my current setup, driving downtown to get the new one, then coming home and setting it all up. Eh. Not super duper excited about that- sounds like a bit of a “Hassle”.
2) going to a Good Friday church service this afternoon.
3) figure out what we’re eating on Easter
Thought of the Day:
“And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.” – Mark 10:34
Have a very blessed Easter/holiday weekend to any and all celebrating anything this weekend. ❤
Daily Gratitude:
I am grateful for a pretty early morning sun peeking in my window. I think I’m going to head straight out for a walk, maybe no headphones?, to enjoy it. Before diving into work. 🙂
My big chore today is to figure out what I wear to Easter brunch when it’s going to be cold and rainy. Getting a new computer is a lot of work, but the end result will be great, right?!

Yep, totally gonna look like I’m going to Christmas Eve on Easter. Spring weather in Wisconsin, or lack thereof, is why I honestly never have cared much for Easter. I like the significance of the holiday, but that’s about it! All of the rest of the “season”, with the floral dresses, egg hunts, etc… just doesn’t work here. It’s freezing and windy out today.

Happy Easter! He is risen indeed (a few days early, but we know what’s coming!)
I hope today is a special day for your family. We had our Good Friday service this morning and I’m now curled up in bed with some Magic Bags (Good Friday is a statutory holiday here in Canada)…It’s raining and I still want to do my 1 km walk, but it is so much warmer inside.

That’s so nice it’s a regular holiday!! My kids have off because they go to Catholic school, but the other schools are in session and we have to work, etc.

At Easter mass on Sunday, the priest talked about how the 2 years of the pandemic were kind of like one long season of Lent with all the sacrifices and heaviness of the period. I thought that was an interesting and pretty accurate comparison! We had Good Friday off, too, since the markets were closed.
